About NeuroDB
A place to compare notes on neurodivergence with people who are living it. Every post is someone's own experience of a diagnosis or a medication, in their own words, under a pseudonym.
There are no moderators here, and no community is run by its members. The NeuroDB team applies the same rules in every community and reads every report.
House rules
The same in every community. They are what the team goes by when a post is reported.
Say what happened to you: the dose, the week, what changed. Everyone reading has a different body and a different prescriber, so your experience helps most as exactly that.
- Fine:
- “On 36 mg my appetite was gone until about 4pm.”
- Not fine:
- “Concerta will kill your appetite.”
No telling anyone what to take, how much, or when to stop. Say what you did and why, and leave the decision to them and their prescriber.
- Fine:
- “My doctor moved my dose earlier and the evening crash went.”
- Not fine:
- “Just take two, it’s fine.”
A post asking “is this ADHD?” gets experiences in reply, not a verdict. Only a clinician who has assessed someone can say.
- Fine:
- “That sounds a lot like me before my diagnosis.”
- Not fine:
- “You’re definitely autistic.”
No offers, swaps or spare tablets, and no tips on getting medication without a prescription. Stimulants are controlled drugs in most countries.
- Fine:
- “My pharmacy was out of stock, so I rang round others.”
- Not fine:
- “I have spare 30s if anyone needs them.”
Your pseudonym is what lets people be honest here. Leave out real names, workplaces, and photos that could identify you or anyone else.
- Fine:
- “My manager noticed I was calmer.”
- Not fine:
- “My manager, Sarah at the Leeds office, noticed…”
No harassment, pile-ons or mocking anyone's diagnosis, and nothing that encourages self-harm. Disagree with what someone said, not with who they are.
- Fine:
- “That wasn’t my experience at all: mine went the other way.”
- Not fine:
- “You’re just lazy, not ADHD.”
No adverts for clinics, supplements, apps or services, and no referral links.
- Fine:
- “A pill organiser with alarms fixed my missed doses.”
- Not fine:
- “DM me for 20% off at my clinic.”
Use Report in the ⋯ menu on any post or comment. The team reads reports within 24 hours: a post or comment that breaks these rules is removed, and the account behind it may be closed.
You can also block someone from the same menu. You stop seeing what they write at once, they are not told, and the team is sent what they wrote, as with a report.
Nobody here is a clinician or on call. Talk to your prescriber or pharmacist before changing anything.
If you are in immediate danger, contact your local emergency services or a crisis line.
Everyone posts under a pseudonym and an avatar, and your email address is never shown. You can delete your account yourself. The privacy page has the details.
A question, a community to open, or a missing medication: see the contact page. The binding version of these rules is in the terms.
